Summer 2010 Has Begun!!!

Hey everyone! Well the summer is here and we're ready for it all to begin here at the Negri Learning Center. Monday starts the first session of Camp Curtain Call - Willy Wonka's Golden Tickets. There is still room in the camp so make sure you get them in quickly!

Also later this month we'll start the first Musical Theatre Academy. The link to what those classes are and where are online! And, rehearsals for Sweet Charity will begin on Saturday, June 28th from 9am - 9pm. We are still looking for female dancers for this show so if you have friends who missed the audition, please have them contact me! Also, your script and music are all online for you to download. Then you can come in the first day and be off book...how convenient :)

HONK! wins for having the largest cast for the summer. HONK! will follow Sweet Charity on the Norris stage and will run for 2 weeks as well. There is no academy classes for HONK! however most of the cast is involved in Boot Camp the 2 weeks prior to rehearsals beginning. This show is sure to sell out and we have added a 2nd 10am outreach performance to accommodate school kids and youth groups coming to see it.

13 the Musical will close our summer and this one is going to be something different! The band will be onstage and the musicians will be kids! There is a 2nd Musical Theatre Academy that goes along with this production so please feel free to take advantage of that. There is also a video contest that is set up where the winner will receive a $500 gift card to Amazon along with 4 free tickets to the show!! All of this is set up on both Facebook and YouTube - get invoved!!

That's it for now. So much is happening around the center this summer for students of all ages. The fall class brochure will be out later this summer to inform you of all the classes available along with dates for our 2010-2011 productions. Rising Stars auditions will be happening as well soon so watch the website for that announcement on the "Auditions/Callbacks" page.

Spring Break is Over! Back to Work!

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful spring break! I know it has been very quite around the center the last two weeks but we are ready to get back into the swing of things.

- Dear Edwina only has 2 weekends left before they go into tech and open on April 22nd. This production is just adorable and the cast of 29 has worked so hard and have put together a wonderful show.

- Auditions for Sweet Charity are May 14th at 4pm at the Pavilion and May 15th at the Village from 1pm - 3pm (this 2 hour slot is by appointment only). Callbacks will be May 15th at the Village starting at 3:30pm.

- Auditions for 13 will be May 24th & 25th at 4pm with callbacks on May 26th at 4pm

- Auditions for Boot Camp will be May 27th at 4pm

- Auditions for HONK! will be May 28th at 4pm & June 2nd from 4pm - 6pm (that 2 hour slot on June 2nd is by appointment only). Callbacks will be held June 2nd at 6:30pm.

Of course our classes are still going thru May 21st and there is so much going on this summer to get involved in around the center. Also if anyone would like to help with the backstage scene as well, please let me know and we'll get you involved with a production!

Knee Deep in Spring Session!

Hello again everyone! Hope everyone is well and enjoying this very sunny weather we are experiencing today :) I know I am! A lot is still going on around the center and a very busy summer is just about to hit!

- A Midsummer Night's Dream has been in rehearsal for 2 weeks now and the show is very much up on its feet. The cast and artistic team has been working extremely hard and are close to getting into the theatre for tech. Also, look for the student rush ticket prices at the box office, only $10!

- Dear Edwina started their rehearsals this weekend. Much progress has been made and we're looking forward to diving into weekend #2. This production will be in the Pavilion, which means limited seating so make sure you get your tickets!

- Classes for the Spring session start next Monday, March 15th and run until May 21st. There are 2 weeks that there are no classes - April 5th - 9th & April 19th - 22nd. Sign up now online!

- Please make sure you check out our website for information on our summer production's audition dates, times, and locations. There is something for everyone this summer and hope to see you all around!

- We are very very very close to announcing our next season! Please check back here soon for that big announcement!

Another Show Down, 2 More to Go in the Spring

Peter Pan has closed and things are starting to settle down around here...for now! Here's what's coming up:

- Midsummer Night's Dream rehearsals start this weekend. This is a short process that will have 4 weekends of rehearsal, 3 days of tech and one weekend of performances. Don't miss this contemporary production!

- Dear Edwina will be starting rehearsals Friday, March 5th! Scripts are in and will be ready tomorrow!

- Spring classes will start Monday, March 15th, make sure you sign up on our website for those!

Winter Session has Begun!!

Hello Everyone!! Hope that everyone is doing well and had a wonderful holiday & break! We've been busy both before and now after the holiday and we're ready to jump feet first into the 2010 season!

- Classes begin TODAY!!! Yes, January 11th has arrived and classes begin this week for the winter session! Please make sure you check out all of the classes that we offer - dancing, singing, acting, yoga, sign language, mask, and there are classes for adults too!! Can't committ to one specific class or want a taste of several classes, try the dance card!

- Peter Pan rehearsals started this past weekend and things are really progressing quickly. With a cast of 43, the rooms are quite full but progress is being made :)

- Auditions for Midsummer Night's Dream are on January 19th & Callbacks are on January 20th. They will be held at the Pavilion in Forum B from 4pm - 10pm.

* I think that is it for the time being! We are still looking for kids who are interested in technical theatre and would like to either P.A. on a show or work backstage or even run a spot light! Please let me know if you are interested and on what show.
